Instructor
Dr. Juan Fulla
Juan Fulla, MD, is an Attending Physician and Assistant Professor at University of Chile. Dr. Fulla specializes in the treatment of urological diseases, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), cancer and kidney stones through the use of minimally invasive, robotic and endoscopic surgery.
Dr. Fulla attended University of Chile school of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine. He went onto his master’s in sciences at the same university and then his urology residency, acting as chief resident in his final year.
He then pursued a one-year clinical fellowship with Dr. Michael Palese at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York in Advanced Minimally Invasive Urological Surgery, mastering kidney robotic surgery along with the new techniques of BPH management such as Rezum and Urolift. In 2019 he completed another one-year of Clinical Fellowship, this time in endourology and advanced kidney stone disease at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, under Dr Manoj Monga mentoring.
Dr. Fulla research focuses on the development of novel techniques for urological surgery and the use of technology to improve outcomes for patients with BPH, kidney stones and kidney cancer. With his colleagues, he has published over fifteen papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored numerous book chapters and presented 50 abstracts at national and international conferences.
