Dr. Kremena Petkova
Assoc. Prof. Kremena Petkova graduated from Medical University of Sofia in 2008 and completed her residency in urology at Military Medical Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2015 she obtained a PhD degree from Military Medical Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria for her thesis on “Endoscopic combined intrarenal surgery in Galdakao-modified supine Valdivia position for the treatment of complex urolithiasis”. She was appointed as Associate professor of Urology at the Department of Urology and Nephrology at Military Medical Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2020. Her professional interests are in the area of minimally invasive urology, endourology and stone disease. Her professional qualifications include multiple courses and fellowships in Bulgaria, Europe and Asia. She is a member of the European Association of Urology (EAU), American Urological Association (AUA), International Alliance of Urolithiasis (IAU), South-Eastern European Group of Urolithiasis Research (SEGUR) and the EULIS Collaborative Research Group (eCORE).
Assoc. Prof. Petkova has authored more than 100 publications in Bulgarian and International scientific journals and books. She is a member of the editorial board of the Bulgarian Journal of Endourology and Minimally Invasive Surgery
Assoc. Prof. Petkova is responsible for teaching medical students and training residents in urology. She is taking part in the postgraduate training in endourology and urolithiasis at the Department of Urology and Nephrology at Military Medical Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. Currently, she is actively participating in multiple International research and educational projects.
